Returning Items

The Return Item button works in a similar way to the void button, although it may be used to remove unwanted items part way through a transaction.

This function works by adding a new item and then returning it, therefore making it a minus and cancelling-out the original item.

The screen shot below shows a Point of Sale screen with various items.

If the customer changed their mind at this point about the ‘Pint of Carling’ the Void button could not be used as this can only remove the last item or the whole transaction.

By adding the item again and selecting the Return Item key, there is now a minus item of the ‘Pint of Carling’, therefore cancelling-out the original item.
